Barely in the second week of work it turned out that we were going to a mill on Friday with the kids. We drove for about an hour to another town and we arrived at the mill. Instantly all the kids were fascinated and as soon as we got off the bus they were paired up and ready for their trip. Unfortunately during the tour, Eva with whom we work with, spoke only in Hungarian to the kids, so Liz and I learned very little other than what we saw and could deduct ourselves. But I still enjoyed the trip because I got to see how the kids faces lit up when they saw a real mill. I'm glad I work in a place where it is possible to take trips like this with the kids where we can show them something real and not just talk about it. Of course at the end of the day we bought fresh bread from a store next to the mill and we drove to a small lake so the kids could eat the bread and tumble down the hill a bit.
